Step 3: Promote the event:
All event bookers or organizers are expected to promote their own evening at Lula. Besides our regular Friday and Saturday Salsa crowd, we have no regulars. We cannot count on walk by traffic as Lula is a destination club. People come to us because they are interested in what we have happening on a specific evening. We highly recommend that you produce and distribute flyers and posters and purchase print or radio advertising. Don’t forget to list all event details, our address, phone and website on any promotional materials:

What we need from you:
In order that we can include your event on our web listings and postcard please email the following to tracy@lula.ca
1)digital photos for our schedule web listings. We need at least one image 400 pixels wide at 72 dpi
2) a sound file in MP3 format. By submitting us the sound file, you consent to it’s use in our monthly podcast and on the weblistings. We will also use the file to promote to local and national media.

General Information
Capacity
250 is our legal capacity.
Tickets and Box Office
Lula Lounge will provide door/ticket sales services from opening until 2 am for the $100 door fee. Please call us to pre-arrange CD and T-Shirt sales tables.
Tickets and Reservations
It is our standard practice to reserve tickets for the show for anyone making a diner reservation. If you would like us to tell callers that they have to purchase their tickets elsewhere in advance of the show, please let us know. Please include the following line on all publicity: “Dinner reservations guarantee best seating.” We will accommodate those coming to dine first, then make any additional seating available to those coming for just drinks and the show. (In most cases we are able to seat almost everyone although this is somewhat dependent on the room set up chosen for the evening.)
Menu
For public events, Lula Lounge will determine the menu and opening time for each evening according to the type of event. If you require special catering for your event, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can provide you with a quote and sample menus. Our menus can be viewed online at lula.ca.
Greenroom
We have a greenroom at the front of the building which performers and organizers are welcome to use. Unfortunately, it isn’t licensed so no alcoholic beverages may be consumed in it. There is a washroom off the greenroom. There is no direct access from the greenroom to the stage. While we try to keep the door to green room locked, we cannot take responsibility for any valuables.
Food and Drinks
Performers receive 20% off food in the dining room. Greenroom catering for performers must be arranged in advance. In accordance with our liquor licence, no alcohol is permitted in the greenroom. Please call Tracy or Mark at 416 588 0307 if you have special food orders for performers or would like to discuss a customized menu for your event.
Lula Guest List
Lula Lounge may place up to 10 names on our guest list. Media are always on the guest list.
Parking
There is metered parking on Dundas Street which is free after 9 pm. You will also find parking on the residential streets to the south until 12 am. After that time a permit is required. Please check the signs carefully. Just a word of warning: There is no parking on Dundas between 4-6pm on Monday to Friday. The city diligently tags and tows vehicles so please stay with your vehicle if you are unloading during those hours. The laneway west of Lula Lounge is active and cars may be towed if left there.
Age Restriction
While our license permits minors, Lula Lounge reserves the right to set the policy regarding children or underage guests on our premises.
Floor Set Up
You can choose the room set up most appropriate to your event:
Tabled event
Tables center floor, in front of stage. This set up is good for poetry, jazz, and theatre events with room for dancing or standing near the bar depending on the number of tables on the dance floor.
Regular event
No tables on center floor, in front of stage. Dining tables remain on upper Right and Left sides.
Theatre Style Event
Chairs are placed in rows on the dance floor. Dining tables remain on upper Right and Left sides. For maximum seating: most tables are cleared out of Lula’s main room with nearly no tables for dining.
Club Event
Most tables are cleared out of main room. No dining. Mostly dancing everywhere including upper Right and Left sides. This option is only for very large events.
